Rule of Thumb 1: Make something every day.
Today is an all too familiar sort of day spent emailing folk, trying to get them on the phone, wrangling with figures and general planning. What with XKCD doing its best to throw a distracting spanner in the works, days like these can be pretty frustrating. I think it helps to make sure I make something, or at least fix something, no matter how small, every day. Keeps me sane.

Above: Today's repair of a phone charger - just some breaks in the cable so had to shorten it, now works fine.
